So what is the Texas Watchdog? It bills itself as organization that:

seeks to be on the leading edge of a national trend toward investigative and enterprise journalism taking place on the Web and outside the traditional newsroom.

An organization dedicated to “watchdog journalism” and government transparency should be able to hold up to scrutiny itself.  They should be free any appearance of conflicts of interest.

But Texas Watchdog fails this test.

“Yellow journalism.” “Completely bogus. Those are just a couple descriptions of dishonest reporting by the Watchdog’s editor.  Maybe that’s why from the beginning, the Watchdog has been too cozy with political interests, and has pursued stories favorable to its benefactors.
